For Parents

General instructions

Parents play an important role in the successful functioning of the school. Please go through the prospectus and homework diary carefully, and advise your ward to adhere to the rules of the institution.

Please ensure your child attends school regularly, completes all assignments, participates in school activities, and devotes adequate time to daily reading.

Every student must carry the homework diary to school every day. It's the mode of communication between parent and school — please check and sign it daily.

Attendance on the last working day before vacation and the re-opening day of every academic session is compulsory. A fine applies for absence, so please don't extend vacations.

Please avoid criticising a teacher or the school in your child's presence — it can undermine their respect for the teacher. Genuine concerns should go to the Principal in writing; anonymous letters are not entertained.

Parents wishing to withdraw their child at year-end must inform the Principal in writing on or before 10th March, otherwise one term's fee is payable for the next academic year.

Full co-operation and support of all parents is sought across school activities, to maintain discipline and help SSM develop into a centre of excellence.

Requests for certificates from the school office must be made in writing, two days in advance, with full details of the addressee.

Students are expected to maintain 90% attendance. 100% attendance is awarded recognition.

On Campus

Campus discipline

The school expects strict adherence to the following from every student.

Students shall be on the school premises sharply by 8:45 AM every day.

Chewing gum is not permitted on the school premises or on the school bus.

Students must be well groomed and in complete, neat uniform. Facial makeup, nail polish, mehendi, coloured clips or hairbands, and flowers are not allowed — nor are fancy hairstyles, hair colour, or coloured contact lenses.

Students shall move silently and in an orderly manner to and from assembly and between classrooms, without disturbing other classes.

Cell phones and other gadgets are not allowed on school premises. If found, they will be confiscated and returned to parents only at the end of the academic year.

Students must take care of school property. The cost of any damage or breakage will be recovered at the end of each semester, and hall tickets for term exams will not be issued until dues are cleared.

Attendance must be maintained, and a medical certificate produced for any absence exceeding 3 days.

Any absence or leave must be taken with prior permission, along with a leave note in the homework diary; leave of more than two days requires advance permission.

Shouting, speaking loudly, or whistling on the school premises is not permitted.
