About SSM
From a reading room in 1958 to a CBSE school today
The Samaja Seva Mandali was established in 1958 by Prof. M.R. Doreswamy to promote civic amenities in T.R. Nagar, starting with a library, a free reading room, and a craft centre for women.
Recognising the locality's lack of educational facilities, Dr. Doreswamy and fellow educationists — including the late Prof. M.V. Krishna Rao — founded SSM Nursery School in 1967 with just 14 students. It has since grown into a CBSE-affiliated school offering Nursery through Std X, on a campus at Chennama Tank Bed inaugurated by two successive Governors of Karnataka.

From Baby Nursery to Std X, SSM's curriculum is structured to build language, mathematics and science skills at every stage — alongside social, emotional and physical development.
