Academics

A CBSE curriculum across four stages

From Baby Nursery to Std X, SSM's curriculum builds broad-based development in language, mathematics and science — with attention to social, emotional and physical growth at every stage.

Baby Nursery – UKG

Nursery School

In nursery the approach is traditionally based on playing, singing, practical activities such as drawing, and social interaction as part of the transition from home to school. Children spend 3 to 4 years in pre-primary school before becoming eligible for Std I.

This promotes holistic development in a student-centred atmosphere, where children participate in arts & crafts, stories and playtime to explore and enhance skills in language, mathematics and sciences — encouraged to work both individually and in small groups to build social skills.

Primary School

Primary School

The role of primary education is to ensure the broad-based development of pupils, with a focus on language, mathematics and sciences, alongside attention for social and emotional development.

This means ensuring all pupils are able to develop their cognitive, social, emotional, cultural and physical skills to the best of their abilities — preparing them for their further school career.

Middle School

Middle School students study a curriculum that is broad-based with emphasis on the core subjects. Students develop positive attitudes and beliefs about themselves as learners, in ways that increase academic perseverance and prompt productive behaviours — setting and meeting goals, doing quality work, and seeing it through to completion.

Students also develop the skills to work individually and with others on projects, especially those involving longer time frames and greater complexity.

High School

High School students study Kannada, English, Hindi/Kannada, Mathematics, General Science, Social Science and Computers. Learning goes beyond books through projects, multimedia presentations, group work and collaborative learning.

The timetable places due emphasis not only on curriculum, but also on co-curricular activities relating to craft, moral science, and physical education.
